The Set
An interesting fact about this show was that it was part of a rep season. Everything you see had to be completely swapped in less than 2 hours with a crew of 5. The portals flew out. The curved walls bolted and sleeved into brackets on the curved platforms. The platforms bolted to gether and anchored to the floor. The oval platform came apart in several pieces.
Oval Platform
This unit has constructed out of 4'x8' platforms that were then planked. The planking overlapped the seams and slid together.
Pre Build
This show was build off site of the performing arts center that it performed in. This is a photo of the prelim set up for the upstage plaform stucture. All curved sweeps were cut with routers and jigs. The Stair units were assembled as individual steps that then could sleeve over a pipe. This way you could make the stair unit as tall or short as needed.
